The Investigation Over Matthew Perry’s Overdose Heats Up
Federal and local law enforcement agencies have made significant arrests in the tragic overdose death of beloved "Friends" actor Matthew Perry. In a press conference, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Martin Estrada, revealed that five individuals, including two medical professionals, face multiple charges related to the incident.
Matthew Perry, aged 54, was found deceased on October 28, following an apparent drowning in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. The investigation has since uncovered a disturbing network of drug distribution targeting the actor.
The individuals arrested include Jasveen Sangha, known as "The Ketamine Queen," from North Hollywood; Dr. Salvador Plasencia, referred to as "Dr. P," from Santa Monica; Eric Fleming from Hawthorne; Kenneth Iwamasa from Toluca Lake; and Dr. Mark Chavez from San Diego.
During the investigation, it was disclosed that these defendants had engaged in the sale of dangerous substances to Perry.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that their investigation remains "open and ongoing." According to the autopsy report, Perry's death was primarily due to the "acute effects of ketamine," with other contributing factors including "coronary artery disease, buprenorphrine effects." Notably, the report clarified that "The exact method of intake in Mr. Perry's case is unknown" and that "the ketamine in his system at death could not be from that infusion therapy, since ketamine’s half-life is 3 to 4 hours or less."
