Youngkin Protects Election Integrity By Going All Paper
In a decisive move to fortify election integrity, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has mandated that all votes for the 2024 presidential election be cast using paper ballots. This directive comes as part of Executive Order 35, issued on Wednesday, which solidifies a series of election security measures under Youngkin's administration.
Governor Youngkin, emphasizing the bipartisan nature of election integrity, stated, "The Virginia model for Election Security works. This isn't a Democrat or Republican issue; it's an American and Virginian issue. Every legal vote deserves to be counted without being watered down by illegal votes or inaccurate machines. In Virginia, we don’t play games, and our model for election security is working."
Under the new protocols, Virginia will exclusively utilize paper ballots, ensuring a verifiable and secure chain of custody. This method stands in stark contrast to the electronic voting systems that have been criticized for their potential vulnerabilities. The state will also employ offline counting machines, further safeguarding the electoral process from cyber threats
