After months of criticizing President Joe Biden for allegedly being unable or unwilling to secure the release of wrongfully detained American citizens abroad, Former President Donald Trump found himself eating crow yesterday when news broke that four US nationals –including journalists Evan Gershkovich and Paul Whalen–had indeed been returned safely stateside via a high-stakes diplomatic maneuver orchestrated by the current White House occupant.

One question remains, however. How did Team Biden reach this kind of success since Trump had also tried to arrange various swaps? 

Amongst several inflammatory posts aimed squarely at Biden, perhaps none drew quite such notice as Trump's risible insinuation that somehow, someway, hidden monies must surely have changed hands behind closed doors: "Are we also paying them cash? Are they giving us cash (Please withdraw that question, because I'm sure the answer is NO)?"
